How to submit your Parents and Grandparents Program Application 2022?

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has recently organized the lottery for the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP). The lottery intended to issue 23,100 invitations to apply (ITAs) for the program. Thus, PGP sponsorship seekers who wish to sponsor their parents and grandparents can submit their application before December 24, 2022.

What is Parents Grandparents Program (PGP)?

Canadian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor their parents and grandparents to immigrate to Canada. By getting a PR status, the parents and grandparents will be one step closer to becoming Canadian citizens in the future.

Check for PGP Eligibility

Before submitting the PGP application, the sponsor must check their eligibility for the program. To qualify under PGP, the potential sponsor must;

  • Have completed an interest to sponsor form on IRCC’s website
  • Be at least 18 years
  • Be living in Canada
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person registered in Canada under the Canadian IndianAct
  • Have enough money to support the people

How to Submit the PGP Application?

With the help of the following steps, you will be able to submit your PGP application

  • Gather All the Documents
    Make sure you have collected all the documents as mentioned in a document checklist by IRCC. Any application with a missing document can be rejected or sent back to the potential candidates.
  • Fill Out the Application Form Correctly
    There are so many sections in the PGP application form that needs to be duly filled as per IRCC’s instruction manual. In case you are not sure about what to fill in a specific section, write N/A or Not Applicable.
  • Pay the Application Fees
    Without paying for the PGP application, you cannot proceed further. The charges will depend upon the number of members being sponsored by the applicant.
  • Review Your Application Before Submission
    It is for your welfare only that you verify your application one more time before submission. This is the best way to alter the errors and avoid the chances of getting rejected by the department.
  • Submit Your Application
    You need to submit an application through online mode. Ensure that the application is electronically signed. Also, include all the documents like the processing fee slip, ITA letter, etc.
