The Parents and Grandparents Program opens once every year. It lets Canadian citizens and permanent residents sponsor their parents and grandparents to come to Canada. Here is how the program works:

Step 1: If you’re eligible submit an interest to sponsor form. This form is available from

Step 2: After the online form closes, the authority reviews the form submissions and randomly selects and invites potential sponsors to apply to sponsor their parents and grandparents. The selected applicants will be informed via email and post the invitation status on the website.

Step 3: If you’re invited to apply, you must share the application package within the due date.
